Happy New Year 2009!

~*~*~*Happy New Year*~*~*~
"I raise my glass to day to come, and give all my love to long ago!"

Well, it is New Years Eve here along west coast and the sun has long set over the horizon for the last time in 2008. The stars are out in the sky, shimmering and welcoming 2009 in all their twinkling splendor. So, step outside, gaze heavenwards, pick a star, and make a wish for all that your heart desires in the coming year. I wish for you all that I wish for my lovely family and closest freinds: Peace on Earth, goodwill towards every human being, health, happiness, love, and all around good times with all your loved ones.

Stay safe, and stay awesome!

Hoping that you all have a prosperous and joyous 2009,
Ms. Me =) ♥

PS: I did this "end of the year" survey over on myspace, so, I thought I'd post it here on my New Year's day post... you get to know me a little better =)

In 2008 did you......

1-Did you kiss anyone?
Sure

2- Did you date anyone?
No, not really.

3-Are you going to kiss someone when the peach drops on new years?
Peach?? Where the F did this survey come from!? Georgia? But in answer to your question-- when the BALL drops on New Years Day, yes, but not in the sense that you traditionally think of. I'm spending it with family, so yeah. If I don't... well, we'll talk, LOL =)

4-Did you lose a b/f or g/f?
No

5-Did you gain a b/f or g/f?
Nope =(

6-Did you do something new?
Yeah, probably.. though I can't remember anything specific right now. Although, I started a blog, does that count? Does it count that I fell into that bandwagon? LOL: sheck it out: http://tv-as-i-see-it. blogspot. com ( I love to selfishly self promote, haha!) (Blogger's note: Haha, now my blog has a mention of my blog in it! It's like
Hamlet! A blog within a blog! Super!)

8-Did you change?
Yeah, in certain ways, I think I did.

9-Are you happy with the year over all?
Yes... Yes, I am, especially the latter part of it, I think.

10-Whats the best thing that happened to you this year?
Most definitely, I think this has to be graduating from university! In four years! Especially after thinking and fretting those last few days when I sincerely didn't think that it was going to happen. But yeah, I think that was the highlight of my year! That, and getting a grown up job not to long afterwards! =) Yay Me!

11-Did you fall in or out of love? or still love someone?
I still love my family, and I always will =)

12-Are you happy the year is almost over?
I wouldn't say happy. Sad to see it go, but looking forward to the next.
Hoping that it can only get better! =) As one of my personal favorite, self edited, quote says: "I raise my glass to day to come, and give all my love to long ago!" =)

13-Are you going to change something about yourself next year?
Yeah, probably. I'm going to will my self to work out on a regular basis, get a better hair style, become more confident and independent. Have good times, you know, that sorta good thing =) I also want to finally learn to play an instrument! =) I blame Hugh Laurie for this! (Blogger's Note: If you're looking for the TV relevency of this post, well, there ya go!)

14-Do you think 2009 will be a better year then 2008?
Hope so. Upwards on onwards, right? =)

20-Did you go on a summer vacation?
No. Well... unless you count moving back to Los Angeles from Santa Barbara during the summer a summer vacation... although, In reality, that's just more of an extended staycation, now isn't it?

21-Did you lie to your parents?
Who doesn't?

22-Did you get into a fight?
Eh...

23-Did you leave the country?
No =( ::sulks:: Soooooooo should have gone on that Europe trip! Rats and Stars!

24- Did you have a good birthday?
Yeah, I had a good time. Birthdays are always fun, I guess. Though, if memory serves, it was cold and I was a wee bit sick... still good, though! =)

25-Did anyone in your family get married?
No

26-Do you think you grew?
Taller? Probably not. In other senses, yeah, probably.

27-Did you dye your hair?
Nope

28-Who do you think you were on the phone with the most?
I don't know.

29-Did anyone sing to you?
Yeah, I think

30-Did you sing to anyone?
Yeah, probably

31-Did anyone tell you they loved you?
Yes

32-Did you tell anyone you loved them?
Of course

33-What did you drink and eat the most?
God, who knows... junk /fast food. Though it being Christmas time right now, all I can think of are tamales! LOL =) Or Posole for New Years Eve! LOL =)

34-Did you change your top friends at least 8 times?
Nope, I never really change them at all.

35-Did you change your profile over 10 times?
Nah, probably just once or twice... the writing on my MySpace is ages old! Pictures and music get updated tho, once in a great while.

36-Did you change your default at least 20 times?
Picture? No... I think it was like 3 pictures total that were in rotation, LOL

37-Did you get a tattoo?
No, not this year, not in any past year, most likely not in any year!

38-Did you vote?
No. I wasn't informed enough to make a weighted and fair decision. I'm tired of all the vote talk. I'm sick and tired of all these people talking about Obama like he's a freggin' savior!.The man hasn't done anything yet! Chill it! And don't even get me started of that word "historic" that they keep throwing around like its... well, I don't know, something you throw. It can't be historic if you can't look back on it yet! And everyone who says that this country has "grown" and "advanced" because we elected and African American to be our president... well, you can't really call it growing and advancing if you still single it out as a great thing that we did. You can only call it overlooking race, if you actually overlook it and not mention it every chance you get. A man is a man, not a race or a color; the only one true race is Human and the only color we should be concerned with is the red life that flows through every man, woman and child. There... rant over.
LOL =)

39-Are you going to make a new years resolution?
Yes! Same one most people are probably going to make: Get in better shape! And like I said, try to learn to play an instrument.

40-Did you stick to your new years resolution from last year?
LOL, I don't even remember if I made one! =)

41-Do you think you will date anyone this year?
Hope so! ::is cautiously optimistic:: =D

42-Where will you be when the ball drops?
I don't know yet! Probably at home with the family =D

43-Do you think you will make new friends in 2009?
I hope so.

44-Are you hoping to meet someone special in 2009?
Again... I hope so =)

45-How do you feel, another year has passed you by?
I'm old. LOL! I'm a little off track on the parade of life from where I'd like to be, but I'm still in the festivities, and giving it my all, so all is well! =)

46. Best friends?
::shrugs::

47: Lost any friends?
I wouldn't say lost... but, lost contact with, or rarely speak with, yeah.

48: Gained any friends?
No... don't think so.

49: Moved?
Like I said before. Sorta... I moved from school life, back to the home town.

50: school?
::dusts hands off and smiles:: All done and over with! ::does a happy dance:::

51: Have you changed?
A bit.

52: New look?
No, not really.

53: Most depressed time this year?
Me? No, not really. (this question is a bit confusing in its phrasing...)

54: Favorite season?
Funny you should ask. I was just thinking the other day... as I freeze.. that during Summer, I say that Winter is my favorite season, but when Winter roles around, Summer is my favorite. So, I guess it's a tie between the two, lol.

55: Least favorite season:
Hmmm.... don't really have a least one... Spring? Mostly cuz here I think this season is a bit non existent.
=)

56: Got arrested?
Ha! No.

57: Kissed a girl?
No

58: Had a crush?
Oh, yeah! ::thinks back:: Dayum, =) LOL

59: Lost a family member?
No, thank God. ::knocks on wood::

Happy New Year!

Random TV Quote...

Courtesy of tonights re-ran episode of The Big Bang Theory:

"Everyone has a date. Even you, Mario, going after Princess Peach.
What am I doing? I'm just enabling you."

-Sheldon, while "playing Mario 64 on a poorly coded Nintendo 64 emulator," in the stairwell

How bloody brilliant is that quote?! The "enabling you" part just made me crack up when I heard it. Sheldon is so cute! =)

This is such an awesome show, too! I always forget to watch it, though, but everytime I remember to watch it, or whenever I randomly stumble accross it, it always makes me laugh! I have to remember to catch a few more episodes online sometime, especially since I've only seen a handfull of episodes... That or get a TiVo...

Anyway... yeah. Random quote.

"Oh, Mario, if only I could control everyone the way I control you.... Hop, you little plummer, hop, hop, hop!"
-Sheldon, once again in the stairwell

Have a great time celebrating! Though, don't forget to take time out from all the present giving and opening, from holiday feasts, candy canes and tamales, to remember the real meaning and significance of this day.

Wishing you Peace on Earth & Good Will Towards Man,
Ms. Me =)

Green Blog #1: Helping Billions, One Water Bottle At A Time...

Welcome to the first installment of Green Blog! Thanks for stopping by! =)

Like I said during my last posted entry on December the 18th, I am going to begin randomly recycling and reusing some of my old ramblings, otherwise known as writings, that were based, in part, on television viewing, as a way to continue this blog during times when I cannot sit and write out full- blown, new blog entries. Hope you don't mind =)

In keeping with the Green spirit for the first installment of Green Blog, I decided to chose this particular entry that I wrote way back when on March the 10th of this year on MyBlogSpace over at MySpace.

I really like the message in this *entry, so I really hope that you can take away something from it aswell.

Enjoy! =)

*Edited/ Revised for grammar, punctuation... and basic overall fluidity and addition of information where author deems needed and/or necessary, for added spark (Please be advised that future Green Blog's will also be edited in this manner).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Everyone! ::waves:::

So, I randomly came across this video not to long ago when I clicked on a banner over at a David Tennant website, and after watching it and persuing the site that the banner linked to, I realized that I wanted to share it with you all. It took me quite a while to share it with you, only because I had to figure out how to embed a non-downloadable, online streaming video file, off of another persons/ organizations website onto this blog... but I'm clever... and so I figured it out. =) The things I do to share valuable information! Ain't I awesome!?

Anyway, if you so wish, please watch below:

Pretty cool and ingenious, wouldn't you say. I certainly think so, and I honestly think that this is a brilliant idea and a great cause. It makes me wonder why we, as in we the people of these United States, don't take up a simillar project or initiative such as this. Or why we don't have One Water, or another such easily marketable product available for purchase here in the United Sates in order to help out those in need, just like our United Kingdom brethren do...

Anyways, makes you think. At least I hope it did. It made me think. Let me know your thoughts if you feel up to it. Hope you enjoyed the video, at the very least.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, there ya go! The first installment of Green Blog! Yay! Hope you enjoyed it!

If you get the chance check out the One Water website here: One Love, One Difference
Or if you'd like, play a Play Pump game: here

Night Night Folks!

PS: If you're wondering how this is related to television... well, it's quite simple really: No.1-- it's an advert (though I don't know if it was ever shown on television... ) and No.2-- David Tennant. He's the Doctor on Doctor Who, and Doctor Who is on TV. So there ya go, you just got to go with the flow!

EDIT NOTE: After I posted this entry, I realized that my previous efforts to embed the advert had long since been for naught, since the video would no longer load... don't know if this problem is just the result of having old flash softwear installed on my computer (which probably is the case) or something else, but in the spirit of not taking chances, I took it off and started looking through YouTube, and low and behold it is now currently available there! Oh, well, like I've said: Good ol' YouTube. Anyway, the video is now currently viewable here. =)

Green is universal...

I'm all for saving this beautiful planet we live on. I love Earth! Seriously I do. It's the best rotating rock in the universe as far as I'm concerned. So, in honor of being eco-friendly, I am proud to announce that this here blog, is from this day forward, going GREEN!!

!!YAY!!

(...hold for applause...)

Right about now, you are probably asking yourself, "How the [expletive] does a free, internet provided, blog go green?"

Well, in all honesty, it doesn't. There's no way it actually can really, at least not that I know of. It can't fix the ozone layer, it can't reduce air pollution, it can't grow organically, it's not low-flow or even energy efficient. Sorry, but it's true... and this is a television blog, so I can't really advocate those things on a regular basis (but, consider yourself advocated as of... Now! You live on Earth, too, so I expect you to keep it pretty and healthy, you hear me!?). But, one thing this blog can do, is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Oh, yes it can!

Well... it can't really reduce, really. Because with each entry I post, I add more clutter to the internet.. but, still, go with me on this.

What with my busy schedule and all, I haven't really gotten very many opportunities to sit down and write. Sure, I have some free time after or before work, but I'd rather spend that time relaxing and kicking back instead of coming up with new ideas for blog entries and then sitting down to write them up. So, because I still do not want to give in and end this blog because of lack on public interest, I'm going to start posting things about television that I have written in the past that are on my computer, or things that I have posted as bulletins on MySpace. See, I'm reusing and recycling! Ain't I clever? =)

Not quite sure which the first one will be, I'll have to peruse some files, but you'll see it soon enough. But yes, this blog is going green, because, as we television viewers know, Green is Universal! I love that saying, ever since it started making the rounds last year! If this blog had a little peacock on the bottom left hand corner, or a little picture of a ringed planet on it's side, a letter "T" with a planet inside it, or some random combination of letters, you sure can bet it will be colored in a bright green hue. Hehe.

(FYI: Peacock= NBC; Ringed Planet= SciFi; "T"= Telemundo; Letters= USA, etc.)

Incase you don't know, NBC Universal coined that phrase last year when they were promoting going and being green. During that month (or was it week?), NBC Universal was encouraging their networks programming to air episodes that promoted the environment or advocated some kind of going green measure. They did this again a few months ago. I don't really watch that much NBC/U programing, but I only remember one show that had an environment centered story (that would be Stargate: Atlantis's episode Brain Storm... and yes, I would notice that one, being as how SGA is one of my favorite shows, and quiet possibly the only NBC/U show that I watch on a regular basis... but, oh, well...) and I remember hearing about another one that did so as well (that would be Eureka). I don't remember Heroes doing anything... hmm...

...Anyway, yeah, blog is going green! =)

Paul!!!!!

.... At least, I think it was Paul.....

I was "watching" Private Practice in miniature cut down sections today, I say "miniature cut down sections" because I was coming and going in and out of my bedroom at the time it was on... and, let's face it, I was pretty much just ignoring the show, since I haven't seen it in weeks and have lost the basic track of it (I have no real idea what the episode was actually about... Cooper and Charlotte had a pregnancy scare, Violet is dating some guy and then kissing Pete [Where the hell did that come from!?! Pete and Addison, people!], and was that pregnant girl Dell's girlfriend??.. see, I'm so lost! ), but anywho, I got a few glimpse of this new guy (Who I think works downstairs from the practice, again, since when is there something medical down there!?!), I remember seeing this guy in the commercials for this episode too, I think his characters name on Private Practice was Lockheart... (I remembered because that was Abby's name on ER, LOL)

Anyways, I swear I have seen him before!

I think he's Paul.

Paul's not his (the actors) real name, though ...at least I don't think it is... Paul was the name of the character (I think) he played in a brilliant, but now canceled television series called The Inside. He was awesome in it... and cute! =) I really want to say this was him, but I can't quite remember what he looks like, exactly. I didn't see the opening credits to the show either, in order to see the actors name, cuz that would have helped... I think his name starts with an "H"... I should check IMDB...

...The Inside rocked! Why is this show not out on DVD yet, I ask you? It was such a great show, brilliant crime drama! Gory, yes, but still good; cancelled way to prematurely... Stupid Fox Television Network... that network has no patience what so ever, and no brains or guts either when it comes to new shows (But that, like other things I've mentioned in passing on this blog, is a rant for another time...).

You know what is creepy/weird... I was JUST randomly thinking about this show yesterday as I updated the TV section of another profile I got floating out there in this inter-web thingy... so, weird! It was weird yesterday while I added The Inside to my favorite shows on that profile too, because I could remember the characters' name! Paul, obviously being one of them... and that evil creepy guy Webb... ::shivers:: He was trouble, I'm sure of it. He used to freak me out like no other. He was secretly evil, I just know it, to bad we'll never know for sure. And Paul and Rebecca where cute, even if Paul was married... See! I told ya I remembered their names! LOL!

Anyway, yeah. I think it was Paul! And he was going grey, too. =(

LOL!! =) Ignore me! Just typing out loud! LOL!

*UPDATE*
Checked IMDB.. JAY HARRINGTON!! Told you his name started with an "H"! I was thinking Higginson...LoL. But yep, it was him! I guess I'm just good with faces! =) Names, not so much! =)

PS:
I stand by my past remarks that The Simpsons only gets better and funnier with time the more times you watch it. Since I have been watching The Simpsons since I was 3 or 4 years old, now, when I watch old reruns, I find new, never before understood, jokes everywhere! It's brilliant, cuz it's like I'm watching a new show every time! Right now, The Simpsons episode about "The Flaming Moe" is on. Homer wants to sue Moe for stealing his drink recipe and passing it off as his own, so he goes to the lawyer, Mr. Hunts (is that his name???). Mr. Hunts tells Homer he can't copyright a drink, as told by the case of one Frank Wallbanger. Hahaha! Too funny! If you don't get it, drop me a comment and I'll let you know... or you can see the tag section here for a clue (yes, this is a ploy to get more comments! Which I know wont happen, but I'm totally cool with).

Advent... as in adventure!

It's the 25 days of Christmas over at the Beeb!

The BBC has once again commenced their now traditional count down to this years Doctor Who Christmas Special. Just like last year (don't know if they did it the years before that... I'm still quite new to the Who...), the official Doctor Who website over at the BBC has set up its own interactive Advent(ure) calendar.

The Doctor Who Advent Calendar follows the same basic idea of those candy advent calendars that you can buy at almost any shop during the Christmas/Holiday season. In essence, an advent calendar is just a big, thin candy/chocolate gift box with a slightly amusing, slightly creative twist.

The idea behind these things is that you open up each little candy/chocolate compartment (usually shaped in the likeness of little windows shutters that belong to the holiday house drawn on the face of the box) to reveal the tasty hidden candy/chocolate treat within.

These things rely heavily on the honor system, seeing as how you are supposed to only open up one compartment window a day, respectively, throughout the month of December, until you get to the 25th "window" on Christmas Day. Which, let's face it, if you've ever had one of these calendars in your possession, you never follow through with it's one and only specific rule. Sure, you may start out trying to hold yourself to only opening one "window" a day... but sometime between the first couple of days and and the second week, you start to realize that the open dates on the advent calendar don't exactly match up with actual days on your wall calendar... or that you've gotten to the 25th while it is barely even the 5th of December... oh well, sometimes candy/chocolate is just to temptingly irresistible.

But back to The Doctor...

The Doctor Who calendar takes away the cheating aspect of this little candy eating tradition... and the candy... well, physical candy anyways, there is always potential for lots and lots of eye candy ::wink wink:: Hehe... But, like I said, there is no need for an honor system with this here virtual advent calendar... this is because you can only open (click) one new window (icon) a day.

The treats are pretty cool enough, though. So far this year there has been (1) a Christmas greeting, (2) a behind the scenes interview/video, and (3) a text interview with a director. From what I remember from last year there were videos and pictures and games and stuff... you know, virtual treats. LOL. The different thing this year, is that only people with a British internet connection can watch the video treats... but, of course, that is what YouTube is for!

Ah, YouTube, is there anything it can't do? LOL. (<-- Random, slightly misquoted, Simpsons reference...)

But anywho... I'm bored... so if you are too (and, I assume, you'd have to be really bored to do this)... you can check out the Who Advent Calendar here at the Doctor Who website

"Twenty five timeless treats to take you though to Christmas Day - and the highly-anticipated special adventure The Next Doctor."

Night Night, folks!

Sci-Fi Smonday

So, since I don't have to go into work anywhere remotely early on Monday mornings, I tend to stay up a bit late and relax (and by relax, I mean stress out about how my lesson plans for that upcoming Monday's sessions aren't exactly completely and thoroughly thought out yet.. but still close enough for me to have put it on the back burner of my mind), by watching a little bit of late night television. Anyway, just recently, I have begun geeking out and watching Science Fiction television during the hours of the day that transform Sunday night into early Monday morning (and by watching I mean tuning in and out, hehe).

Now, when I say Science Fiction television, I don't exactly mean that I am watching the Sci-Fi network. Not that I have anything against it (which I do on some levels, but, that's a blog for another time...), but because I don't have cable TV or a satellite dish. I have a regular TV set attached to a pair of rabbit ear antennas and a digital converter box. Heck, I don't even own a DVR device! Yeah, I know... I'm still living in the 19-- whatevers.

Anyways, back to the point.

A local area broadcaster has recently started to once again air the syndicated episodes of both Stargate Atlantis and Stargate: SG1. I don't even know why or when they stopped these re-airings in the first place. A few years ago I remember that both of these shows had a stint on my local FOX station, and then, for some reason or another, they got moved to MyNetworkTV, which at the time, was still UPN. The switch would have made sense had it been changed from FOX to MyNetworkTV, because here, in Los Angeles, these two stations are sister stations. But, maybe, at the time of these airings it wasn't the independently owned UPN anymore, seeing as how FOX had bought out a bit of its programing... anywho, off track again...

Like I was saying, now Stargate Atlantis and Stargate: SG1, air back to back on a local station here. So, being a fan of these shows, I tend to watch 'em, even though I've seen the episodes before (back when I had cable...), but like I said, I tune in and out. After Stargate: SG1 ends, I switch over to one of the three PBS stations that we get here in Los Angeles, to watch Doctor Who.

I really enjoy watching these Doctor Who airings! Mostly because they are broadcasting *Series One, which stared Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor. Now, like I've said before, Nine is not my all time favorite Doc (that would have to be Ten), but I've come to realize that I never gave Nine much of a chance. Even though Nine was the first Doctor that I ever saw. He really deserves a lot more credit since he was so brilliant, and I kinda wish he had stayed on longer than just though Series One.

So, yeah, like I said, I'm having a good time re-watching (and in some cases, watching for the first time) these Series One episodes. And not just because of Nine, but because the first time I ever saw these episodes, I saw them on their first American broadcast on the Sci-Fi Network, which I have now come to realize they had edited for content (something I still don't quite understand, but oh, well). Now I think I just finished watching the final American Public Broadcast rotation in my area... which sucks, because I should have recorded more than just the 3 episodes that I did. I say this because I was looking through the Best Buy catalogue that I got in the mail the other day, and the Series Four box set sells for a whopping $70.00! American! For 13 episodes! Wow, what's up with that!? Is it because it's imported????

Anyway, about the PBS run, it's funny, because when I first realized that this particular PBS station was airing Doctor Who, it was the one PBS station that came in extremely grainy. I'm talking, watching a show underneath digital snow grainy! But now that I have my DTV Box, it super clear! (If you don't have one of these boxes yet, I strongly recommend that you get your hands on that government coupon and get one for yourself [www.DTV2009.gov]! This DTV thing is going to be huge!)

So yes, Sci-Fi Smonday is pretty cool.

("Sci-Fi Smonday", is my so not creative play on how the Sci-Fi Network themes it's nights, into "Sci-Fi Monday," "Sci-Fi Friday," etc. So, since I was talking about TV that takes place on the bridge between Sunday night and Monday morning, I came up with "Sci-Fi Smonday." Yeah, told you it wasn't creative.)

Good Night, and have a pleasant tomorrow!

* Series is basically the British equivalent to the American Season, just so you know.

Of Yummy Poppin' Corn & Tasty Toast...

Hey All!

Just another quick reminder post today... I know, I know.. It's been five-ever since I wrote anything actually about television (you know, in that I actually comment on it, instead of just telling you what to watch, hehe...), but work has been hectic. Which kind of sucks, because just in the last few weeks there has been TONS of great television news that I have just been dying to talk about. Trust me, it's been a sad, sad month for television... but you'll just have to take my word for it for know and tune back into this page for further information and developments, hehe...

But anyways....

Don't forget that tonight is this years airing of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving! I used to love watching this little cartoon when I was a kid... only back then, I could swear that it would actually air on Thanksgiving night, usually at sometime after we've all had dinner. Oh well, beggars can't be chosers, so even if it is two days early, let's all have fun and watch those loveable Peanuts characters take part in a great Thanksgiving feast!

Charlie is the hapless host as Snoopy is in the kitchen dishing up ice cream, popcorn and toast. Included is the bonus cartoon "This is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers," which finds the gang abord the Mayflowr in 1620.

So, check your local ABC stations for correct times if you and your family want to endulge and watch the Peanuts gang tonight. ... But, if you're like me, you'll be watching that extended episode of House, MD. tonight, Hehe. So, remember, if you're DVRing it today, set the end time to 9:08PM-- extended episode, remember? =D

Whatever you chose to watch tonight, enjoy! And, of course...

*~*~*Happy Thanksgiving*~*~*

I got a rock....

Just a little quick reminder that tonight ABC will once again be taking part in a timeless tradition... well, timeless circa 1966-ish...

The classic children's tale, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, will be on tonight at 8PM (PST), so be sure to check your local listings and gather the kids 'round the TV set to indulge in Charles Schulz animated nostalgia.

It may be a few days early, but lets all get into the joyful Halloween spirit, shall we? There's nothing like childlike wonder, innocence, magic, and sugar induced hyperactivity. So enjoy the movie. It's a great and wholesome hour of quality family time... just watch out for those rocks.

The "Peanuts" Halloween treat features Charlie Brown finally getting invited to a Halloween Party, Snoopy battling the Red Baron and (my favorite) Linus awaiting the Great Pumpkin.

This kiss will potentially be post-poned due to rain...

Greetings Folks!

So, I haven't written anything on this here blog for a while... Now, I doubt I have any regulars, constant lookie- lou's, or, lets face it, any readers at all, but I'm here now, and that's all that matters =)

Anyway, like I was saying, I haven't updated the blog for... what, a week?... but not because there has been a lack of material on my end, not by any means at all, I just haven't had the time lately. I actually do have loads of topics that I have set aside that I hope to get around to, hopefully some time soon.

So what's todays topic, you ask?

House.

Yes, again. I know I ranted about House a few days ago while I was missing Wilson's (or maybe it was Robert Sean Leonard's) presence on the show, but I want to rant about House again... so bear with.

Okay... I have never wanted to watch House more than I do right now!

Let me explain/ elaborate:

I can't remember if I mentioned in the other post, but I haven't been a regular viewer of this show for very long, in fact, I don't think the label 'fan' fully applies to me just yet. I've only been into this show since about the beginning of this past summer (2008), give or take. The first episode I can remember watching was the one that aired right after the Super Bowl (sorry, can't remember when that was exactly), and I was pretty drawn in... I really liked it... But then, I kind of forgot about it, or lost track of it, or forgot its airing schedule, or... whatever. Then I randomly, and by chance, caught the season 4 two part finale last TV season. And that was it... I was totally sucked in. I mean, how could I not be? It was just brilliant! Brilliant in acting, in story, in storytelling, in direction, emotion, cinematography, etc., etc.! Just brilliant.... and then of course I had to wait through the whole summer break to catch a new eppy! Hehe... But, being as how it was summer, I watched the season one DVDs... and that, along with what's been aired of season five, is pretty much all I've seen of House...

But now I've gone slightly off tangent from my original thought...

So, like I said, not a fan for very long... which is why I am so utterly surprised that I cannot wait for the next new episode... Frankly, I blame the damn FOX promos! Have you seen these things!? They're just playing at my hopeless romantic heart strings! LOL. I've been wanting House and Cuddy to have a little fling thing (I got over Cameron and House rather quickly... however cute those two were together, they were just going no where). So, imagine my surprise while I was peacefully watching The Simpsons a week ago and saw the new FOX November promo. It ended in... in... just awesomeness that literarily made me say "Woah!" out loud. Which was funny because, at the end of the preview, Wilson also says "Whoa!"... Well, here, take a look for yourself...

Not exactly the one promo I was talking about (in fact, this is the first time I've seen this specific promo), but I don't feel like rummaging through You Tube... besides you get the point.

Anyways, did you see House and Cuddy almost kiss!! =) Oooohhh... can't wait!! Sadly, I may actually have to wait! I know! Why you ask? Well, because today's 2008 World Series half played baseball game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays was post-poned until tomorrow Tuesday due to rain (first time that has ever happened in the history of World Series baseball, by the way). I'm actually quite optimistic that it will air tomorrow nonetheless, the game was already in the sixth inning, and they're going to start playing at 5 PM (Pacific Standard Time)... I just wonder about the east coast, because that's their 8 O'clock (House's time slot)... and I wonder if that will through off the whole TV schedule throughout the country...

Hmmm. ::shrugs::

Anyway and nonetheless, I can't wait to watch to see if that tease of a kiss ends up being a real throw- the- sexual- tension- out- the- window kiss. =)

Here's the actual promo for the episode, "Joy."

Take Care Peeps!

Oh... PS! ...Since we're talking about House, it means we're talking about Huge Laurie, so I decided to change the 'Video of the Moment' over on screen left. Check it out... I dare you not to laugh! Because you don't have to be British to understand, or 'get', British humour.

Night Night!

Edward Norton has a cute smile...

...What?... I JUST noticed!

=)

He was on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" last night-- he smiled, I noticed, I liked. Heheh.

Don't believe me? Take a look for yourself:

The 2 Best Moments of the 2008 Emmy's....

I know the Emmy's are long forgotten by know, but it's a slow blog day...

I haven't seen the entire show yet (taped it... yeah TAPE... TiVo is overrated...), but I have seen parts of it (Fast Forward is a great little button) and, so far, I think I can say a few things about the actual show itself.

For one... one of the worst Emmy's that I have recent memory of (Wow... look at that, I ended a sentence in a preposition!). Anyway... part of what I really enjoy every year when watching the Emmy's (and yes, I do try to watch them every year if I can) is the opening sketch/ skit/ monologue. They're just quite brilliantly funny most of the time.

Remember Conan O'Brian trespassing all over the major hit television shows of the time, only to be scared away by Chris Hansen to do an ode to television ala "Music Man"

He may be an ass, but he's a genius.... But if that's not your funny cuppa tea, how about 'Family Guy's' Brian and Stewie Griffin's brutally honest nod to television??

Freakin' Hilarious! Am I right, or am I right? =)

Sadly, I can't say the same for this years show. 2008s 'reality' version... well.... let's just say that it left a lot to be desired... and that's putting it mildly. I'll be honest, when I first heard that there were going to be five hosts this year, I honestly thought that it was going to be a pretty good idea. Nice change, I thought. How wrong, I was. As soon as Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Jeff Probst, Howie Mandel, and Ryan Seacrest took the stage and started talking (after Oprah of all people! Why was she even there, anyway?), I couldn't stop thinking: "Wha??... That's it?... That's not funny... that's hardly even reality!" Really, Ryan, I expected more out of you, at least.

But alas, there were two really great moments that I just absolutely loved... and as such, I wish to share with you... ain't you special:

#1: THE funniest moment of the ENTIRE show... THE FUNNIEST... Awww.... leave it to a Brit! =) Good show, indeed! Oh... and I don't care what anyone says, Gervais carried the whole act., NOT Carrell...

Ricky Gervais dissing on Steven Carrell:

#2: Josh Groban singing TV Theme songs, it was great and funny and cute, I love the SNL part.. pretty accurate impression if you ask me. Good to see Groban in a completely different light than just a classical artist:

Hope you enjoyed this little opinionated YouTube moment. Please feel free to comment.

=)

Night night, and take good care!

I'm THIS close to buying a volleyball....

I miss Wilson!!

House is just not the same with out him. And by 'House' I mean both the show "House MD" and the man House, MD... Seriously, it's just not the same without him there to quip offhandedly, look the other way and/or berate were applicable. Yes, Cuddy is there to fill the void by offering some, if not all, of these things to House, but it's just no the same... she doesn't have the same delivery as good ol' Jimmy (and by that statement, I'm not implying that the actress can't handle that kind of dialogue, Lisa Edelstein's great, but, let's face it, Cuddy's just not that girl in House's life... that's Wilson's role... as a boy....).

Speaking of Cuddy as the girl in House's life... I sure hope that I'm not the only one who was a little lost on what House really wanted to get out of showing Cuddy a real picture of himself as a cheerleader. Am I the only one who saw some kind of love thing going on there... or is that just wishful thinking on my part? (And yes, I do realize no one is actually reading this...) But, being the hopeless romantic that I am, I cant help but want something to happen between House and Cuddy... not anything sexual, and certainly not anytime soon, but some kind of loving hint? Although... she did stay by his bedside while he was sick after the bus crash that killed Amber... Hmm....

Anyways... back to the point... I'm pretty sure (::crosses fingers::) that Robert Sean Leonard hasn't gone anywhere, the fact that his name is still in the opening credits is a good sign, and as such, he's hopefully not going anywhere for a very long time (::crosses fingers::). It's just that after one full episode of 'House' without him in it, and then following that a week later with an 'Ugly' season 4 repeat... well... it just makes me miss Wilson.

Previews for next week have me hopeful. Not just because Wilson is back, but, because it seems like these two boys are going to have some time to chat things out... in their own unique way, of course.

Here's hoping volleyball season is over.

My favorite TV show... is a children's show...

Yeah, that's right, and what? A 22 year old girl can't love a children's show? You got a problem with that? Wanna fight about it? =) ('Family Guy' reference... hope someone got that...)

But yes, my favorite television show is a children's show. Don't worry, it's not a cartoon, there are no felt puppets and no educational purple dinosaur dancing and singing about. No. This weekly 45 minute children's show centers around the adventures of a 900 year old alien with no name from the planet Gallifrey, who travels about the universe fighting evil in his time traveling- phone box- shaped- spaceship called the TARDIS.

TARDIS = Time And Relative Dimensions In Space.

Cool, huh?

'Doctor Who' is probably my favorite television show... of the moment at least... and no, not just because of David Tennant... although, that point can be argued. But I loved the show way back when, when Christopher Eccleston played The Doctor (Yes, there has been more than one doctor... but i'll get to that in a second). At that time, I had no idea that 'Doctor Who' was such an iconic show in Britain. I think it has been on the air for something like 44 years now... the longest running television series in television history, I think I read once. Pretty cool feat if you ask me, especially considering that a television show now a days is considered a huge success if it can get past a few televised seasons... five being the huge milestone. Why? Because, five usually hold the coveted 100th episode, which means wonderful syndication rights.

But yes, 'Doctor Who.' What I love about his show is how freaking hilarious it is and how emotionally raw it can be. 'Doctor Who' can have me in stitches (check out the episode 'New Earth' or 'The Unicorn and the Wasp'), have me fanning my eyes at the sadness of it all ('Doomsday'), or have me wishing I wasn't watching the episode in the dark... alone... at night ('Blink' or '42'). Trust me when I say this is not your average children's show. The reason that it is categorized as a children's show is only because of it's narrative structure.

Good ol' 'Doctor Who'... I''m glad I stuck with it after Eccleston left. At the time, I had no idea that The Doctor had been played by nine different actors (including Eccleston), so when Tennant was brought on board as the tenth doctor, I thought it was the lamest, most stupidest recast in television history ('They look nothing alike!') At that point I hadn't seen the regeneration from Nine to Ten take place, haven missed a few episodes here and there, so I didn't know the face change was due to the fact that The Doctor cheats death by regenerating into a new body every so often. Anyway, I was against Tennant all the way, I hated him, and I hated his version of The Doctor... but now, I cannot imagine anyone else as The Doctor... he's brilliant. Though, I still miss Nine every once in a while... he was just... well... Fantastic!

Well, enough 'Who' talk... maybe I'll come back to it... him?.. it... at a later time, but for now, this is good. Check out the show if you ever get a chance... just, try to watch it on something good like the BBC or PBS, or one of its affiliates like BBC America, Sky, or even online if you can... just don't watch it on the SciFi network in America if you can help it. They butcher it on that network... I just don't understand why they feel the need to edit out key points... LOL, don't get me started on the SciFi Network... that's a rant for another time =)

Have a nice day, thanks for dropping by, and take good care! =)

I'm not a doctor... Nor do I play one on TV...

Hello, there! Hi, I am Me. And you are You. Very nice to meet you, You! It's a pleasure. Welcome to my blog!

Didn't really know how to get past the pleasantries there at the beginning, because, well, let's face it, this is cyberspace, I don't know You and You don't know Me, but we are having an interaction. So, yes, Hi! Welcome to my blog... wait, I said that already. No, problem, it bears repeating =) Hi.

Honestly, I do not know why it is that I am writing a blog, just kind of felt right... not because it is the new "hip" thing to do (would have started it years ago if that were the case), nor is it because I think I'm witty and have exciting things to relate to the world (though, I do have my moments)... but basically because I have sorely missed the feel of the keyboard under my fingertips. Oh, I've missed writing. You see, I am a recent Sociology grad from the University of California, Santa Barbara (Go Gauchos! Wooh!). Though while there I could not wait to leave behind everything that had to do with reading extraordinary lengthly books and writing fifteen page long reports on mundane topics... now, I long for those experiences. Which is why I'm currently reading "Hamlet" and writing this here blog. I know, not exactly the same thing, but it scratches the itch and serves as the fix.

Anyway, by now you're probably wondering what this here blog is all about. Look around! Yep. Feel free to take a step back, put your hands in your pockets in an act of proud contemplative impressiveness and marvel at it. No? Okay, worth a shot. Well, the title pretty much says it all: "TV as I see it." Catchy, ain't it? =)

I'd like to say that I have pretty good knowledge of television as a whole and as a business... you know, as much knowledge as a novice can have, but knowledge nonetheless. Knowledge and opinions. I think that's pretty much what all blogs are basically about, no? Knowledge and opinions? Well, that's what this one is going to try to get across. Anything that has to do with television that I feel up to writing about, I will write about (time allowing, of course). That involves my favorite television indulgences, commercials, songs I hear on TV or even thoughts I have while watching TV... if TV is involved in one way or another, it will find a place here if I so wish.

I already have a few things I think I would like to talk about, but those are stories for another time. Can't throw everything at you all at once. That's no fun... for either one of us.

Well that's it for now. Next blog entry will probably focus on what I like to watch and why, so watch out for that. In the mean time, feel free to watch the "Video of the Moment" over on screen left. That Vid. is awesome... I'd take credit for it, but I have a very strong conscience... I just found it on YouTube and took a shinning to it. Really cool graphic structure... and it gives you a tiny clue about what might be on my favorite shows list.

So, thanks for dropping by! It was very nice meeting you, the pleasure was all mine... and in the end, that's all that really matters. ;o)

What?

...Possibly coming soon...
